Babar Azam T20 World Cup 2022: Pakistan captain Babar Azam on Sunday defended the batting strategy of losing to England in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Left-arm pacer Sam Curran (3/12) and leg-spinner Adil Rashid (2/22) made brilliant spells as Babar and his fellow Pakistani batsmen were restricted to 137/8 in their 20 overs in the first innings. The Pakistan captain said, “I am very sad. I think we were 20 runs short and we could not defend because of that. We are very proud to play for Pakistan. When you don’t win, then a lot. It hurts. I’m disappointed.” He said, “We were in a different position. We were trying to build a partnership, but we couldn’t. Whenever a wicket falls, the batsman goes and he plays two-three balls.
