By anointing the head after Aachaman, the blessings of Lord Shiva are received and by touching both the eyes after Aachaman, the sun, air by touching the nasika (nose) and all the glands by touching the ears are satisfied. First of all, collect all the materials related to worship at the place of worship.

Fill holy Ganges water in a copper utensil or lota.

Make sure to keep a small achmani (small copper spoon) in the pot.

Make sure to put basil leaves in the water.

  • While meditating on God, take out some water from the pot and keep it on your palm.
  • Take this holy water with chanting, take this water 3 times.
  • After taking water, do touch your hand to forehead and ear.
  • If due to any reason you are unable to do Aachaman, then in such a situation, even just touching the right ear is considered to be a complete method of Aachaman.

Aachaman’s Direction and Mantra

Direction is also important during Aachaman. During this, your face should be towards north, northeast or east direction. Apart from this, the approach done in any other direction is considered futile. While chanting, ‘Om Keshavaya Namah, Om Naranay Namah, Om Madhavaya Namah, Om Hrishikeshaya Namah. While reciting these mantras, wipe your face with your thumb and wash your hands by chanting Om Govindaya Namah. Aachaman done by this method and rule is completed and the worship is considered complete.
