Delhi University admissions: Delhi University will release the first merit list today, after which the process of admission to DU’s undergraduate courses will begin. The candidates will have to book the allotted seats by 5 pm on October 21 i.e. take admission in those seats. Otherwise the allotment of candidates will be canceled.
According to media reports, candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of their CUET scores and preferences of programs and colleges. Here we are going to tell you about 10 such things, which you have to keep in mind during admission.
These 10 points are important for you
1. Allotment of seats to the candidate will be done on the basis of the category of the candidate and availability of seats and program-group merit list.
2. Once the seats are allotted to the candidates, they should accept the seat allotment immediately. The participation of a candidate in the next round can be ensured only if he/she accepts the allotment given in the first round. If the candidate does not accept the allotment, his allotment will be cancelled.
3. If the allotment is accepted by the candidate, then any college wants any document/information from the candidate, it can ask for the same. The point to be noted here is that if any college asks any query, candidates will have to respond online through the dashboard within the stipulated time. Delay or failure to answer will result in cancellation of the seat allotted to you.
4. The college authorities will accept/reject after verifying the candidature within the stipulated time, and on acceptance, students will get a notification on their dashboard for payment of admission fee.
6. ‘Upgrade’ and ‘Freeze’ Options:
Admitted candidates can choose the ‘Upgrade’ option to try for their preference other than the one allotted earlier.
· If a candidate selects ‘Upgrade’ and gets upgraded in subsequent rounds, his/her current recruitment seat will automatically get cancelled.
If higher preference is allotted, the candidate will have to accept the newly allotted seat.
Please note, the candidate who is given first preference will not be considered for upgrade
If the candidates are satisfied with the seat allotted to them, they can simply opt for the ‘Freeze’ option after which they will not be upgraded.
7. Tie-Breaking Rules: In case of tie-breaking, the percentage of aggregate marks in three subjects of Class 12, the percentage of aggregate marks in four subjects of Class 12, the aggregate percentage of marks in five subjects of Class 12 will be considered. Apart from this, the factors like age of the candidates, letter of name etc. will be considered.
8. For ECA Quota: A candidate can apply for a maximum of three ECA categories, and for each category, they have to upload five certificates issued between 1st April, 2017 and 30th June, 2022. The allotment will be made on the basis of CEM (Combined ECA Merit).
9. For Sports Quota: For candidates applying under Sports Quota 25% of the CUET Percentage Score, 25% of the CUET Percentage Score, and 50% of the marks obtained in the Sports Trial will be counted for admission.
10. Candidates who are not able to apply for CSAS 2022 within the stipulated time and wish to participate later can do so through mid-entry window on the notice of the University. The candidate has to pay the fee of Rs.1000.
