The Economic Affairs Committee of the Cabinet Committee has announced an increase of Rs 10 per quintal in the FRP of sugarcane for the 2023-24 season. The new FRP of sugarcane has now become Rs 315 per quintal.

Giving information about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that the Modi government has decided to increase the FRP of sugarcane by Rs 10 per quintal for sugarcane farmers. Let us tell you that by fixing FRP i.e. fair and remunerative price on sugarcane, sugarcane farmers are given a guaranteed amount of their produce.

Modi government’s decision to increase the FRP of sugarcane will benefit 5 crore sugarcane farmers. Along with this, 5 lakh employees working in sugarcane mills and related activities will also benefit from this decision. Let us tell you that the new sugarcane season will start from the month of October.
