IIT Roorkee Curriculum Changes: Not only in the country but also in Asia’s oldest engineering college i.e. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has changed the curriculum of its undergraduate program. Changes in the curriculum have been made keeping in view the global aspirations of the students.
new syllabus year 2023 will be offered for UG students seeking admission to B.Tech, B.Arch, BS-MS and Integrated M.Tech programmes. Revised curriculum includes compulsory courses on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), Data Science, Indian Knowledge System (IKS), Tinkering and Mentoring, Talent Enhancement Basket (TEB), Entrepreneurship, Environmental Science and Sustainability (ESSC), Community Are.
Please tell that the changes in this syllabus have been made keeping in mind the new education policy. According to institute officials, in the new curriculum, students will study soft skills, maths, physics, computer programming, tinkering and mentoring and engineering science courses in the first semester. The curriculum on soft skills will work to enhance the overall personality of the students including communication, group discussion, skills. IIT Roorkee said that students will be exposed to the importance of traditional Indian knowledge system through a compulsory course. A compulsory course on Community Outreach (CORE) will also be a part of this revised curriculum.
