Back Pain: Back pain means back pain has emerged as a rapidly growing disease. A study published in Lancet Rheumatology Journal states that by 2050, around 84 crore people worldwide will be troubled by the problem of back pain. Along with this, it has also been said in the study that most of the cases of back pain will be seen in Asian and African countries.
Study to overcome back pain issues
Manuel Ferreira, professor of back pain at the University of Sydney in Australia and the main author of this study, said that under this study, light has been thrown on the cases of back pain in people around the world. The study states that the problem of back pain may put a huge burden on the medical and healthcare system in the coming days. Ferreira said that in order to control the cases of lower back pain, there should be proper research on it so that this disease can be controlled.
The problem of back pain is increasing continuously.
It has been said in the Lancet study that the number of people suffering from the problem of back pain worldwide was 619 million, while it is going to increase manifold in the coming years. Not only this, about a third of the cases of back pain related injury and disability are related to office workload, smoking and being overweight. Although it would be wrong to say that most of the cases related to back pain are related to office workload.
Women have more problem of back pain
Researchers conclude that most of the cases of back pain are related to increasing age and in these also women are more victims than men. In the Lancet study, the data of the last 20 years of Global Burden of Disease has been assessed. For data for Lancet study, study was done in about 204 countries. Under this study, assessment has been done on people above thirty years.
