The NCLT, while hearing the petition of the company on Thursday, reserved the verdict. However, the indications from the NCLT bench during the hearing were disappointing for GoFirst. The bench clearly said that there is no provision for interim moratorium under the IBC. If the tribunal accepts the petition, then only there is a provision of Absolute Moratorium.
Crisis on the jobs of so many thousands of people
Due to the collapse of Go First, a serious crisis has arisen in front of its employees as well. About 5000 people were currently working with GoFirst. In this, including the pilot and captain, all other crew members are included. Now these people are looking for jobs in competitive companies like Air India and Indigo. Tata Group’s airline Air India can benefit greatly from this crisis, as this company is making new recruitments for the expansion of the fleet amidst the ongoing dispute with its pilots.
Air India needs on a large scale
Air India has recently placed a huge order for aircraft. The Tata group company is going to include about 500 aircraft in its fleet. Due to this, the company will need pilots, captains and cabin and crew members on a large scale. The company has already issued advertisements for recruitment on these posts. According to Air India’s advertisement, it currently needs more than 1000 pilots to operate its fleet.
Interview for these posts
Air India is facing difficulties in operating the existing fleet itself. The company was forced to cut the number of flights to West Asia last month due to a shortage of crew members. It is being told that the airline is conducting spot interviews for the posts of Commander and First Officer of A320 aircraft. In such a situation, Air India can easily get experienced candidates as ex-employees of GoFirst, while its employees can get a new job opportunity after GoFirst is stalled.
