What is the difference between the annual salary of Indian male and female cricketers from BCCI?

BCCI Annual Contracts for Senior Women: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today (27 April) released the new central contract list of women cricketers for the season 2022-23. 17 players got place in this. These 17 players have been placed in three different grades. The annual salary of each grade is different. Exactly a month ago, BCCI had released the new central contract list for men as well. In that list, 26 players were placed in four grades. There is a huge difference in salary between these grades of male and female cricketers. If only the top grade of both the contract lists are compared, there is a difference of 14 times.

6.50 crore difference in top grade
BCCI pays 50 lakh rupees annually to the players included in ‘Grade A’ of women cricketers, while the annual salary of players included in ‘Grade A+’ of male cricketers is 7 crores.

More than 16 times distance in second grade
The annual salary of ‘Grade B’ players of women cricketers is 30 lakhs. At the same time, in the second grade of male cricketers i.e. ‘Grade A’, every player is given 5 crores annually. That is, there is a distance of more than 16 times here.

30 times the difference in third grade
The players included in the ‘Grade C’ of women cricketers have an annual salary of just Rs 10 lakh. On the other hand, men get 3-3 crores in the third grade i.e. ‘Grade B’. That is, here there is a 30 times difference in the salary of both. There is also a fourth grade in male cricketers. Cricketers included in ‘Grade C’ get 1-1 crore annual salary, while the fourth grade has not been kept among women cricketers.
