Today we are going to tell you about one such Gujarati dish. It looks exactly like Maharashtrian Bada Pav and its name is Dabeli… So without delaying much, let us tell you the easy recipe of Gujarati Dabeli.
Ingredients to make Dabeli
- 8 loaf
- 1 handful coriander leaves
- 6 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup raw peanuts
- 1/4 cup sev
- 2 onions
- 3 tbsp garlic mayonnaise
- 6 tbsp tamarind chutney
- 1/4 cup anardana
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 1 clove
- 2 red chilies
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 cinnamon stick
- 2 potatoes
- 6 tbsp green chutney
- salt as required
- tsp cumin
How to make Dabeli
- First of all, keep a saucepan on medium heat and fry cloves, cinnamon stick, coriander seeds and red chili in it for about two minutes. On the other hand, boil the potatoes in a pressure cooker on medium heat and then let them cool. Now peel the potatoes and mash them in a vessel. Put the roasted spices in the mixer and grind them finely. Now finely chop the onion on a chopping board.
- For filling, keep another pan on medium heat and heat oil in it. Now put cumin seeds in it. Add asafoetida, ground spices, mashed potatoes, water and salt to the mixture and mix well. Now take the pan off the gas and add tamarind chutney to it. Mix all the ingredients well.
- Now take pav and cut them in half. Place a pan on medium heat and melt butter in it. Now place the cut pav on it and cook it from both the sides. Once the buns are cooked on both the sides, take them off the heat and place them on a flat surface.
- Next, place a portion of the stuffing on the bottom half of each pav. Add chopped onion, sev, green coriander, pomegranate, peanuts, 5 tbsp green chutney and garlic mayonnaise over it. Cover it with the other half of the pav. Prepare the remaining dabeli in the same way and put 1 tbsp green chutney over the dabeli. Serve it hot to enjoy.
