Haryana Steelers: Haryana Steelers, which joined the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) in 2017, has not been able to come close to the title even once. The ninth season of the league is starting from 7 October. Once again the Haryana team will try to win the title. This time Haryana’s team is quite new and the number of young players in the team is more. Haryana has also included experienced player Joginder Narwal, who became champion with Dabang Delhi last year. Let us know what will be the strength of Haryana’s team for this year and what will be their weaknesses.
Haryana’s raiding looks balanced
Young raiders Mitu, Vinay and Rakesh Narwal, who performed well last season, have been retained. Apart from this, Haryana has added Prapanjan with it this season. Altogether there are nine raiders in the team and out of them 4-5 are those who have good experience of playing in the league. Despite the departure of Vikas Kandola, Haryana’s raiding looks quite balanced and strong.
Lack of experienced players seen in defense
Defender Jaideep, who took the third highest tackle point of the last season, was retained by Haryana. Now a very senior player like Joginder is also present in the team and he is definitely going to get the benefit of this. However, if these two players are left out, then the lack of experienced defenders in the team is clearly visible. In the middle of the season, this weakness of defense for Haryana can be overwhelming.
There is only one all-rounder in the team
Haryana had put its full emphasis on the raiders and defenders in the auction and they did not understand the need to buy all-rounder players. Nitin Rawal is the only player to have Haryana as an all-rounder. Nitin’s career so far has been mixed and he has not performed much. The lack of a good all-rounder can also become a problem for Haryana.
