How to check if your location is getting 5G service
Airtel has confirmed that users can check 5G compatibility for their existing smartphones using the Airtel Thanks app on the 5G launch.
To use 5G services on your smartphone you will need these things. You live in an area where 5G services are available. Airtel has stated that 5G service is currently available only at locations where 5G towers are installed.
Apart from this, 5G service will start on your existing 4G SIM only.
Steps to activate 5G on your smartphone
Open the Settings app on your smartphone
Head to Connections or View Mobile Network Options
Tap on Network Mode and select 5G/4G/3G/2G option
Once the network mode is set to 5G, if you are in a 5G-active area, the smartphone will automatically start showing the 5G logo.
