UPI Transactions in September 2022: The use of digital payment in the country has increased very rapidly. The number of digital payment transactions through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has increased by 3 per cent to 6.78 billion in September 2022.

While releasing the UPI transaction figures in its tweet, NPCI said that in the month of September, 6.78 billion (678 crore) transactions have taken place and their value is Rs 11.16438 crore. It is being told that in the month of August, there was Rs 10.73 lakh crore. A total of 6.57 billion (657 crore) transactions were done through UPI in the month of August.
6 billion transactions in July
According to NPCI, for the first time in July, UPI payments crossed more than 6 billion transactions in the country. In July 2022, the value of UPI based digital transactions stood at Rs 10.62 lakh crore. If we look at other data of NCPI framework, there were 46.27 crore transactions through Immediate Transfer-Based Payment System (IMPS) in September 2022 as compared to 46.69 crore transactions through IMPS in August. A total of 46.08 crore transactions were done through IMPS in July.
When was UPI started?
The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) was launched on 11 April 2016. Since then, its usefulness has continuously increased very rapidly. Nowadays everyone likes to make and take payments through Paytm, Phonepe, Google Pay, BHIM UPI.
