12.2 lakh tonnes of petrol sold in just 15 days, diesel also registered a record increase

Petrol Diesel Rate: There has been a sharp increase in fuel demand during February, as the consumption of petrol and diesel had increased to double digits in January. According to preliminary data released on Thursday, petrol sales have increased by 18 per cent to 1.22 million tonnes till February 15, compared to 1.04 million tonnes in the same period last year.

According to statistics, earlier during the Kovid period i.e. till the half of February of 2021, its sales had increased by 18.3 percent, which was 15.7 percent during this period during 2020. On the other hand, talking about month to month, there has been an increase of 13.6 percent in the demand for fuel as compared to the previous month. How much increased diesel consumption

According to the PTI report, during February 1 to 15, the sale of diesel has increased by 25 percent to 33.3 lakh tonnes as compared to last year. Diesel consumption had earlier increased by 16.7 percent during February 2021, which was 7 percent more than in 2020. Month-on-month, this time the sales have increased by 10.3 percent as compared to 3.01 million last month. Although the consumption of diesel has decreased by 8.6 percent as compared to January.

Apart from this, the demand for travel during the holidays has increased the consumption of petrol.

Increased demand for jet fuel

After the increase in the number of airplanes and passengers, the demand for jet fuel has also increased in February. It has increased to 2,94,000 tonnes between February 1 and 15. This is 35.6 percent more than February 2021, but 12.8 percent less than February 2020. Month-on-month sales have increased by 4.22 percent. Apart from this, the sale of cooking gas LPG has increased by 4.1 percent to 1.39 million tonnes.
