According to the report of PTI, Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary (Sports) in this regard said, ‘The objective of this policy is to increase the participation of young children by identifying talent in the age group of 5 to 14 years and public-private partnership, public-private partnership. Center to be built in Lucknow

He further said that the Center has given its consent in this regard and Guru Gobind Singh Sports College in Lucknow will be made a Center of Excellence (CoE) for three sports. He further says that every district will have a district sports center which will help in training the young talent. DSC will also have District Sports Coaching Center (DSSC) to provide basic training in sports and fitness.

Social media and other channels will be used to spread information about admissions etc. to encourage participation in the event. The state government is also proposing to create an Uttar Pradesh Sports Development Fund with an initial corpus of Rs 100 crore.

Yoga will be mandatory

Under the policy, yoga will also be mandatory in the training program of sportspersons and school students. Facilities for training and practice of yoga will be made available in the sports stadiums of all district headquarters. UP Sports Development and Promotion Committee will work for promotion of sports among all sections of the society like women, special abled person etc.
