Tata To Make iPhone: Tata Group will soon be seen manufacturing iPhone in India. The country’s largest and oldest industrial conglomerate Tata Group can also join the league of iPhone makers. Tata Group will be the first Indian company to manufacture the iPhone. Tata Group is going to buy Taiwan’s Wistron Group plant located in South India. It is believed that this deal will be completed soon. After which Tata group will make iPhone in India in association with Wistron. The Tata group will have the largest stake in this joint venture.

Assembling of Apple’s iPhone is done by Taiwanese giants Wistron and Foxconn Technology Group. After entering the league of Tata Group’s iPhone manufacturing, it will help in challenging the supremacy of China. China currently has the biggest dominance in the manufacturing of iPhone. 85 percent of the total iPhone is manufactured in China. Apple wants to reduce its dependence on China for making iPhone. The supply of iPhone has been disrupted due to the restrictions imposed in China regarding Corona. The waiting period of this high end phone has increased.

According to Bloomberg’s report, Tata Group’s deal with Wistron will be completed before March 31, 2023. After which Tata Group will replace Wistron. Tata Electronics will also get the benefit of the government’s incentive which will start from the new financial year starting from April 1, 2023. Apart from Wistron, Taiwan’s Foxconn and Pegatron also manufacture iPhones.

Tata is constantly engaged in increasing its partnership with Apple. Tata manufactures components for the iPhone in Hosur, near Bangalore in Karnataka. Along with this, Tata is going to open around 100 Apple stores and the first store is going to open in Mumbai.

Let us tell you that assembling the iPhone is a challenging task because many quality standards of America have to be met. Through the new manufacturing plant, there is a target to increase the assembling of iPhone by 5 times. Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran had also said earlier that the company’s focus is going to be on electronics and high-end manufacturing. Wistron has been assembling iPhones in the Indian state of Karnataka since 2017. The company is currently running in huge losses.
