But now there is a company which is going to give Paternity Leave to its male employee even after becoming a father. The name of this company is Pfizer India. Which has announced the implementation of Paternity Leave Policy in the company.

What is paternity leave policy

Pfizer India has implemented a 12-week Paternity Leave Policy for its employees. Under this policy, employees who become fathers can take advantage of these holidays within 2 years. Those taking paternity leave can get leave of at least two weeks and maximum of 6 weeks at a time.

why was it needed

Pfizer India company has taken this step as part of its initiatives related to diversity and inclusion. This new policy has been made effective from 1 January 2023. Along with the biological father, the adoptive father can also take paternity leave of about 3 months under this policy.

Will be able to take leave within 2 years

In this policy of the company, employees who become fathers can take advantage of these holidays within 2 years. Those taking paternity leave have the facility to take leave of at least two weeks and maximum of six weeks at a time. In case of any other complication, employees will also be able to take other leaves included in the company’s leave policy including casual leave, elective leave and wellness leave.
