Bajra and ragi flour can be consumed in different ways like paratha-roti etc. In a study published in Frontiers in Nutrition, it was told that if people suffering from diabetes consume millet in their daily diet, there can be a drop of 12 to 15% in the blood sugar level. In many researches, it has been found that the glycemic index of bajra is 52.7, which is about 30 percent less GI than milled rice and refined wheat.
