Modi To Hold Election Rally In Rajasthan’s Kotputli On Tuesday

PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold his inaugural election rally in Rajasthan’s Kotputli, within the Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha constituency, on Tuesday. This event marks his first public appearance in Rajasthan since the announcement of the general elections timetable.

The Prime Minister is set to arrive in Jaipur at 2:30 p.m., following which he will proceed to Kotputli via helicopter to address a gathering of the public.

The state BJP is currently in the final stages of organising arrangements for Prime Minister Modi’s rally. On Monday, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inspected the venue and assessed the overall preparations.

This upcoming rally will mark the Prime Minister’s fourth visit to the state this year.

BJP Leader Birender Singh Resigns From Party

Former Union Minister and BJP leader Birender Singh resigned from the party on Monday and he is slated to join the Congress.

“I have resigned from the primary membership of the BJP and sent my resignation to party chief J.P. Nadda. My wife Prem Lata, who was an MLA from 2014-2019, has also quit the party. Tomorrow, we will join the Congress,” he said, IANS reported.

Having joined the BJP in August 2014, Singh, known for his influence within the Jat community, made the decision ahead of the Haryana Assembly elections.

His move to join the Congress is perceived as an effort to court Jat voters in Haryana, Rajasthan, and western Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier on March 10, Singh’s son Brijendra resigned as a BJP MP and opted to join the Congress, citing “pressing political considerations.”

Brijendra’s departure from the BJP occurred five months after his father issued a warning to the party during a rally in Jind, stating his intention to leave if the BJP maintained its alliance with the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP).
