Shakib Al Hasan Bangladesh T20 World Cup 2022: After missing out on the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 with just two wins in five Super 12 matches, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan on Sunday said it was the best possible result for his team with the addition of fresh faces. So recently many changes were made in the team.
Pakistan and Bangladesh got golden opportunities to make it to the last-four stage after South Africa’s defeat to the Netherlands to crash out of the T20 World Cup. However, Bangladesh suffered a five-wicket loss in their previous Super 12 match, which was a virtual quarterfinal, allowing Pakistan to advance to the semi-finals.
Shakib said, “In terms of results, this is our best performance in the T20 World Cup. We could have done better. But having said that, with new players coming in, with changes, it’s the best, whose We can hope.”
The captain felt that if the batsmen had batted till the end, a few more runs could have been scored. He said, “At one point we were 70/1. We wanted to score 145-150, which would have been a fair total on that pitch. Knew it would be difficult for the new batsmen, so the set batsmen had to wait till the end. Wanted to move forward which didn’t happen.”

According to the experienced all-rounder, he could have done better and continued to play. Shakib said, “Based on my performance, I could have done better. As long as I am fit and performing well, I would love to play.”
