IPL Auction 2023: Preparations for the auction of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League are going on at a fast pace. Two weeks are now left for the auction to be held in Kochi on 23rd December. The Board of Control for Cricket in India and all 10 franchises have started preparing for the auction. The list of retained and released players has been finalized before the auction and now the teams are ready to buy new players. Let us know some important things related to the auction.
Sunrisers have the most money
All the teams combined have retained a total of 163 players and now a total of 87 players are to be bought in the auction. Out of these 87 players, 30 will be foreigners and Rs 206.5 crore is to be spent in the auction including all the franchises. The Sunrisers Hyderabad team is going to enter the auction with the maximum amount of Rs 42.25 crores. Kolkata Knight Riders will have the lowest amount of Rs 7.05 crore.
991 players have registered

A total of 991 players have registered themselves for the auction. Out of this, 714 players are from India and 19 of them have played for India. 91 uncapped players have also registered their names and they have been a part of any IPL team before. 277 foreign players have also given their names for auction and out of these 166 players are those who have played international cricket. 20 players from Associate countries have also given their names for the auction. Maximum 57 foreign players have registered from Australia, while 52 players from South Africa have also given their names.
