Indian team lost this match by 49 runs. In the second match of the India-South Africa T20 series played in Guwahati, the Indian bowlers gave 78 runs in the last 5 overs. The result was that despite making a huge score of 237 runs, India could win this match by just 16 runs.
Same was the case against Australia
The first match of the three-match T20 series against Australia was lost by the Indian team due to poor bowling in the death overs. In that match in Mohali, Australia needed 55 runs to win in the last 4 overs, but here the Indian bowlers were beaten in the death overs that the Australian team won with 4 balls remaining. In the third match of this series also, Australia scored 63 runs in the last 5 overs against India. India could win this match in the last over.
Death bowling was the reason for being out in the Asia Cup
In the Super-4 matches of the Asia Cup 2022, the Indian team could not defend the score of 181 runs against Pakistan and 173 runs against Sri Lanka while playing first. In both the matches, the Indian team bowled poorly and had to be out of the Asia Cup. Here the worst bowling was also done in the death overs.
