River Cruise MV Ganga Vilas: Prime Minister Modi is going to flag off the world’s longest historical river cruise ‘Ganga Vilas’ near river Ganga in Varanasi through video conference on January 13. A team of at least 32 foreign tourists has reached Ramnagar terminal of Varanasi to witness the journey of ‘Ganga Vilas’. These foreign tourists were welcomed on Tuesday by garlanding them to the tune of shehnai. Tourists from abroad looked very excited to be a part of this journey. ‘MV Ganga Vilas’ will be brought from Ramnagar Terminal to Ravidas Ghat. The yatra will begin on January 13 from Ravidas Ghat to Dibrugarh via the river.

Cruise director Raj Singh said that there are 18 rooms in this moving five star hotel. 36 tourists can stay in these rooms. Apart from this, it also has accommodation for 40 crew members. There are also facilities like salon, spa and gym in this cruise. Singh told that the tourist will have to pay a daily rent of Rs 25 to 50 thousand. He also told that Ganga Vilas Cruise is equipped with ‘Pollution Free System’ and ‘Noise Control Technology’. There is an STP plant in this, so that no sewage will be able to enter the Ganga. A filtration plant is also installed in the cruise, through which the water of the Ganga will be purified and used for bathing and other purposes.

3200 kilometer journey in 51 days

According to the report of news agency PTI, this river cruise has a fuel tank of 40 thousand liters and a fresh water tank of 60 thousand liters. Raj Singh told that Ganga Vilas will start its journey from Varanasi and will cover a total distance of 3200 kms in 51 days. This cruise will go to Dibrugarh in Assam via Bangladesh. During its journey, this cruise will reach its destination through the route of 27 rivers passing through India and Bangladesh.

36 tourists will be able to ride

Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh said in a statement on Wednesday that Ganga Vilas Cruise has been prepared for better performance in front of the world. There will be a 51-day journey on 50 tourist destinations including world heritage sites, rivers, ghats, national parks, major cities like Patna in Bihar, Sahibganj in Jharkhand, Kolkata in West Bengal, Dhaka in Bangladesh and Guwahati in Assam. In this cruise, there will be 36 tourists from 3 countries- Switzerland, Germany. The cruise will start from Kashi and cover a distance of 3200 km along with 50 tourist places through 27 rivers.
