Humaity at risk: AI is in a lot of discussions this year. While artificial intelligence has many advantages on one side, there are also serious disadvantages on the other side. Many tech giants have called AI a danger bell. Musk, the owner of Twitter and Tesla, has also called AI a threat to humanity. Meanwhile, at the Yale CEO Summit, a survey was conducted by CNN on AI in which the CEOs of the world’s top companies were involved. It was revealed in the report that 42 percent CEOs believe that AI will dominate humanity in the next few years.
More than 119 CEOs included in the survey
In this survey conducted by CNN, it was told that about 42 percent CEOs and top business tycoons believe that AI has the potential to destroy humanity after 5 to 10 years from now. The survey included 119 CEOs from Walmart, Coca-Cola, Xerox, Zoom, and many other large companies. On the report of the survey, Yale Professor Jeffrey Sonnenfeld said that if this happens in reality then it will be very dangerous.
it’s a relief
According to the report, about 34 percent of CEOs said that AI could potentially destroy humanity in 10 years while about 8 percent of these said that the destruction could happen only in 5 years from now. However, 58 percent of CEOs said that AI will never dominate humans and they do not need to be worried.
This report has come to the fore when some time ago the danger of AI was highlighted by the CEO of Open AI and he also signed a paper calling it a threat to humanity. This paper was also signed by Elon Musk, more than a dozen officials of Open AI, Geoffrey Hinton, top executives of Google and Microsoft. All the tech leaders had said that there is a need to make a law on AI and all countries will have to work together on this. Let me tell you, Sam Altman, CEO of Chat GPT, had recently come to India and had talked about AI losing some people’s jobs.
