Railway Budget 2023: Yesterday Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the financial year 2023-24 in front of the country. In this budget, the Finance Minister had given many gifts for different sectors of the country. In this, the biggest allocation of Railways was given so far. The government wants to modernize it by spending Rs 2.4 lakh crore on the railways. Railways will spend this money on modernization, service and security. The aim of the Railways is to construct more and more modern railway stations. Along with this, the number of luxury and semi high speed trains should be increased in the country. For this, Railways is paying special attention to increasing the number of Vande Bharat trains.
Total 400 Vande Bharat trains are targeted in three years
Let us tell you that till now Vande Bharat train is being operated on a total of 8 routes in the country. Railways will spend a total of Rs 75,000 crore to prepare the infrastructure of Vande Bharat train. With this money, the coach of Vande Bharat train will be prepared in the country. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that there is a plan to run a total of 400 Vande Bharat trains in the country in the next 3 years. In such a situation, the coaches of these trains are manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory i.e. ICF in Chennai. Apart from Chennai, the Railways has also set a target to make these coaches in Sonepat in Haryana, Rae Bareli in UP and Latur in Maharashtra.
Railways also ordered to make wheels
Let us tell you that the Railways has not paid attention to the Vande Bharat train only in this year’s budget. The focus on this high speed train was also done in last year’s budget. In Budget 2022 itself, the Finance Minister had announced that a total of 400 Vande Bharat trains will be run on different routes in the country. Now this plan is being further implemented in this budget. Last year itself, the railways had placed an order with Ukraine to make 36,000 wheels of Vande Bharat wheels worth Rs 140 crore, but the work was interrupted due to the war. After this, the Railways had given this order to countries like Malaysia, China, Czech Republic, Poland and America. Apart from this, Steel Authority of India is also manufacturing more than 1 lakh wheels.
Railway will spend the budget money in this way
Let us tell you that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has told after the budget that the Railways has got full money in the budget this time. Along with this, he said that for the last several years, there was a huge shortage of money with the Railways, which has been completed in this budget. The Railway Minister said that this hydrogen train, Vande Bharat train, development of stations and other important things will be spent. Along with this, a proposal has been made to develop a total of 1275 stations in the country. In this, renovation will be done from big stations to medium stations and some small stations.
