12 JMI scholars get PM Research Fellowship, see details

PMRF Research Fellowship: Jamia University has informed that 12 scholars of Jamia Millia Islamia have been selected for the Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF) under the Lateral Entry Scheme of May 2022 Drive. The number of recipients of this prestigious fellowship from Jamia has more than doubled since last year when 6 scholars of the university were awarded PMRF 2021.

Congratulating the successful candidates, Vice Chancellor Prof Najma Akhtar said, JMI stands for excellence and works hard to provide all possible support to its students to achieve heights. This performance reflects the university’s focus on high-quality research and I am particularly pleased that six out of twelve students are girls. I hope this will inspire other students especially university girl students to do well in science and engineering research.

PMRF Coordinator Prof. Abdul Qayoom Ansari said that these scholars will get a fellowship of Rs 70,000 for the first two years, Rs 75,000 for the third and Rs 80,000 for the fourth and fifth years. In addition, each will get a research grant of ₹ 2 lakh annually (total ₹ 10 lakh for five years) under PMRF.
